DAPS is an award winning director whose work has gone on to
generate billions of views. He is best known for directing music videos for
artists such as Migos, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Kendrick Lamar.
A British citizen of Nigerian descent; Daps was raised as a
child of the world - living in several different regions across the globe,
including Lagos, London, Soto Grande, Connecticut, North Carolina, Kentucky and
Los Angeles. This has undoubtedly influenced his creative style and vision,
with a distinctive voice that speaks of the rhythms and landscape of his
international experience.
In 2016, he directed the video for Migos - Bad and Boujee- which
went on to become a US number 1 and accumulated hundreds of millions of views.
The video was nominated for -Video of the Year- and -Viewers Choice- at the
2017 BET Awards, and also acquired an MTV VMA nomination for -Best Hip-Hop
Video-. Following the undeniable success of this video, Daps has gone on to
direct several more successful Migos videos. These include -T-shirt-, which
numerous publications have heralded as the best video of 2017. Daps received
nominations for 2018 BET video of the year, and 2018 MTV VMA Hip Hop Video of
the year for -Walk It Talk It-.
Daps is the only director ever to direct multiple genres from
multiple countries that have gone on to reach #1 in those respective countries.
As a creative, this level of intersectionality between Africa, UK, and the US
is unparalleled.
In 2018, Daps created and directed the Christmas campaign for JD
Sports, as well as executive producing the music. The campaign featured
numerous brands and high profile talent, making Daps a name to watch in the
commercial field.
